Indirect Cooling/Heating

Closed loop indirect systems used for cooling and heating are a way to save energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Evaporative (heat is rejected using the process of evaporation, water is consumed) and liquid-to-liquid  are two types of closed-loop cooling systems where a transfer fluid has been used.

A closed-loop cooling system circulates coolant and rejects heat using heat exchangers in such a manner that the heat transfer fluid does not come into direct contact with the environment at any time. However, in the case of a poorly installed, damaged or aged system, fluid could leak unintentionally directly into the envirnoment. When selecting a heat transfer fluid for the use in a closed loop cooling systems, one should consider performance, sustainability ànd the potential environmental impact.

  • Reduced refrigerant filling
  • Less CO2 emissions: The cooling medium does not come into direct contact with the product, so no dust or emissions are created. This eliminates the need for pollution control equipment and makes tight emission limits easier to meet
  • Installation maintenance & transformation simplified
  • Improved sustainability: This is caused by the limitation of the release of contaminants into water bodies which may be harmful to aquatic life and reduction of the amount of water used for closed loop cooling systems.
  • Additional heat exchanger, indicates increased coolant production
  • The viscosity of the heat transfer fluid are usually too high
  • More expensive insulation of the pipes, larger dameter pipes, pumps
  • Adequate protection against freezing (low viscosity etc).
  • Heat transfer fluid with low viscosity that provides better flow: Reduction of pressure losses, smaller pumps and pipes, energy saving when used, cost reduction in design and use.
  • Compatible with the application of industrial/commercial systems, materials, safety, environmental requirements etc.
  • A stable product over time

InnogreenChem designed a high perfomance (low viscosity at low tempratures) heat transfer fluids with low envirnomental impact, for the closed-loop cooling systems specifically used in commercial and industrial process cooling.

  • Technical support based on our technological know-how
  • A range of heat transfer fluids that meet the requirements of various industrial/commercial applications
  • Large operational and functional temprature range (from -60°C to +200°C)
